TK Air Conditioning

Merry Christmas from Turn Key Air Conditioning

Turn Key Air Conditioning Ltd would like to wish all of our clients and friends a very Merry Christmas.

In this year’s December Newsletter, we have two noteworthy news items. Firstly we highlight the new requirements for inspections that all owners of air conditioning should be aware of. Secondly, we are very pleased to announce our new status as an Mitsubishi Approved Ecodan Installer. We feel that air source heat pumps have great potential as a heating system of the future and our appointment reflects our commitment to be at the forefront of this development in the UK.

Compulsory Air Conditioning Inspections
In support of its climate change commitments, the government has introduced new regulations which make compulsory the inspection of air conditioning systems. Systems over 250kw should have been inspected by 9th Jan 2009. The new regs cover systems from 12kw. Please see www.tkac.co.uk/inspections.htm for details.

Approved Ecodan Installer
Turn Key Air Conditioning is now an Approved Ecodan Installer, having completed an arduous accreditation process. Through the Heating Partner Programme, Mitsubishi provides detailed training and support to Approved Installers of Ecodan air source heat pumps. Heat pumps operate very differently to traditional boilers and so it is vital that Ecodan is correctly installed and therefore operating at its maximum energy efficiency.

To this end, Ecodan will only be supplied via Approved Ecodan Installers.
Ecodan air source heat pumps operate at significantly higher levels of efficiency than traditional methods of home heating. They are much easier to install than ground source heat pumps, making them suitable for a wide variety of domestic properties from flats to detached houses.

The Ecodan air source heat pump system consists of an external box which is fitted to an outside wall.  It harvests renewable, low grade energy from the outdoor air and upgrades this into useful heat to supply a home with hot water and heating.  For every 1kW of electricity fed into Ecodan, at least 3kW of heating energy is provided and it can work efficiently all year round.

Ecodan is a factory sealed air source heat pump, connected by flow and return water pipes to either a hot water storage tank and/or central heating. When installed within a domestic environment this product comes under various domestic related building regulations, including Part P and G3. To ensure Ecodan installations meet these and Mitsubishi’s own installation requirements, each company that applies to become a Heating Partner must meet very specific criteria.
